Typically, all serviced camshafts are re-ground. With this project re-grinding was eliminated from the re-qualification process. Eliminating the grind will be done by implementing a detailed inspection and measurement system. It is expected that 95 percent of cams will not be required to be ground. Additionally, the life of a camshaft section will be extended based on less material removal.
